In Adult ADHD: What Clinicians Need To Know, ADHD specialist Dr. Todd Love will present a three-hour live virtual workshop for mental health clinicians on understanding and treating the complexity of ADHD in adult clients. Key areas include up-to-date neurodiversity research and the diverse presentation of ADHD in adults, diagnosing and managing ADHD, the complexity of working with co-occurring disorders — including ADHD and addiction — and the impact of ADHD on relationships. The workshop is scheduled for Friday, August 23, 2024.
PROGRAM LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Understand neurodiversity and the ADHD brain.
Gain an understanding of the diverse presentation of ADHD in adults, and be able to differentiate myths from truths regarding ADHD as a disorder.
Learn the various models of diagnosing ADHD in adults, as well as some common co-occurring diagnoses.

In addition to the broad utility for all mental health clinicians, this presentation will include a “special topic” focus on ADHD and relationships that will be particularly relevant to MFT’s. Specifically, we will discuss the impact that ADHD can have on adult relationships. We will explore best practice methods for managing not only the overall relationship dynamics that can evolve, but also differentiated focus on the ADHD partner and the non-ADHD partner, and their unique contributions to both the problems and solutions. The section of the presentation will offer ADHD relationship resources for both clinicians and their clients.
